Device positioning using BLEGONIO in indoor environments
Professor at Iwate University
In this presentation, we will introduce the BLEGONIO device positioning system, which was jointly developed with ERi.
In this system, we introduce a technology that estimates DOD (Direction-Of-Departure) using RSSI without using phase, and perform device positioning using departure angle information from Bluetooth beacons consisting of array antennas. As an example, we conducted an experiment using five BLEGONIO beacons in a gymnasium, and found that an average distance error of 1.29 m was obtained.

15:05~15:30
Introduction to the basic technology of indoor positioning and its concrete examples [InQross Kaizen Maker and Pedestrian Autonomous Reconnaissance]

IoT/DX Group Manager, ERI Inc.
Also CTO of Musen Connect Inc.
It is not easy to determine the location of people or objects indoors where GPS signals cannot reach. Many universities and companies have been researching and developing this technology for many years, but a standard technology that is excellent in terms of both cost and accuracy has yet to be established. If technological advances lead to a breakthrough, there is a chance for major innovation.
In this presentation, we will explain various technical methods and trends related to indoor positioning. In addition, as concrete examples, we will introduce InQross Kaizen Maker, an indoor positioning system that can be easily used in manufacturing sites and other places to help improve work, and pedestrian autonomous navigation.
